ABOUT

Biography

The Kamerata Stradivarius Orchestra (KSO) was founded in 2010 based on the shared vision of being a free and international ensemble, dedicated to creating and sharing exceptional experiences in classical music. With 13 members spanning 6 different countries at its core, the KSO it’s based in The Netherlands and shares a collective of passionate musicians uniting for specific tours in Europe and across the world. The orchestra is constantly on the move: to date, it has performed in over 40 countries across five continents. It is governed collectively by its management team and orchestra board; decisions are made democratically with the participation of all musicians. The Kamerata Stradivarius’ sound is characterized by the chamber music style of ensemble playing among its alert and independent musical personalities. Its core repertoire, ranging from the Viennese classical and early Romantic periods to contemporary works and world premieres, reflects the KSO’s agility in crossing musical boundaries. The orchestra received its most significant artistic impulses from its founding member, violinist Razvan Stoica and from other artistic partners like Dian Tchobanov, Micho Minchev, Andreea Stoica who inspire and shape the orchestra during long-term collaborations. Razvan Stoica leads and directs the orchestra regularly in its performances of chamber orchestra repertoire. All KSO musicians share a strong desire to continuously deepen their engagement with audiences. This has inspired a growing number of offstage musical encounters and projects that bring music, learning and creativity to communities across the globe. In recent years, the KSO’s major projects have included performances in major festivals and concert halls like: Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Gewandhaus Leipzig, Berlin Konzerthaus, Teatro Antico in Rome, Atheneum Bucharest, Teatro San Barnaba in Brescia, De Doelen Rotterdam, Muzikhaus Wien, Disney Concert Hall Los Angeles and Ancient Theatre Plovdiv. 2019 takes the Kamerata Stradivarius Orchestra to four continents and thirteen countries for ground-breaking projects and long-term partnerships. The originality that lays the foundation of KSO’s special sound is also brought by the instruments that musicians use: Antonio Stradivari (1729), G.B. de Lorenzi (1860) Guarneri del Gesu (1742) and A. Klotz (1798) )
